Which bowl game will Rutgers play in? Projections point to this emerging favorite

After Rutgers earned its spot in a bowl game this weekend, it will have to wait a couple weeks to find out its postseason destination.
With two more games left in the regular season, there is one favorite emerging from the bunch.
The Scarlet Knights clinched their second consecutive bowl bid by defeating Maryland, 31-17, on Saturday in College Park. A majority of bowl projections released after this weekend’s action have head coach Greg Schiano’s team participating in the Rate Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona.
While that contest is the leader in the clubhouse for , there is one wild-card selection that would pit Rutgers against an old Big East foe at a tropical location.
Here is where the Scarlet Knights landed in bowl projections after Week 12 action:
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura: Rate Bowl vs. TCU.
When and where: Thursday, Dec. 26th at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.
ESPN’s Mark Schlabach: Rate Bowl vs. TCU.

247Sports: Rate Bowl vs. Baylor.
When and where: Thursday, Dec. 26th at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Bears hit their sixth win against West Virginia with a 49-point explosion. Baylor announced Dave Aranda was sticking around as coach, too. Rutgers punched its bowl ticket after taking out Maryland on the road, 31-17, thanks to a couple touchdowns on the ground from Kyle Monangai. Rutgers closes against Illinois and Michigan State.
